About me
Let me introduce myself, this is SURENDAR RAJENDRAN, from India, studying Computer Systems course in Riga Technical University (Bachelor’s degree).
I always had a keen interest on computers since my childhood, I was amazed by the tasks that could be accomplished with such a small portable machine, I was so much into computers that I used to spend my time in computer lab after lectures, since my 3rd grade. After seeing my interest in computer, my parents bought me a personal computer for me when I was just 10, which is considered to be too early to own a personal computer in my place at that point of time. With my hard work and dedication I scored 10 on 10 Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA) in my SSLC board examination and then I chose computer science stream choosing Computer science, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as my major subjects during high school. By then, I was introduced to programming for first time, I liked it so much and that was the time that I decided my career should be in Computer field.
With my continued hard work and sincerity, I scored 81.6% in my HSC exam and with my keen interest, I scored 96% in my favorite subject, Computer science. I always dreamt of doing my higher studies in abroad, I started looking for universities all around the world, I visited many overseas education consultancies and finally decided that Riga Technical University was the one for me, So I applied and joined Riga Technical University. This university helped me a lot in improving my communication skills as we were often involved in teamwork and presentations. I always try to learn from others. I would say this is my strength. Also, am a nature lover, I am interested in skating, I have won SECOND prize in STATE level skating tournament conducted back in my country, India. When I was looking for universities, I got to know about the Erasmus Traineeship scholarship. I believe practical skills are more important than just knowing the theory. I am sure gaining practical skills by pursuing training or internship will be a huge boost to my career. I consider internship as the building block of someone's career. According to me, the education you pursue and the job you do should contribute to the development of humanity. My aim is to establish my own firm and provide employment to the needy and deserved ones.
