Since its establishment in 2006, Bolivia Digna has been developing and working on programs aimed at promoting social development, violence prevention and protection of children. Currently, the organisation works in two sites in the suburbs of Cochabamba, in communities where people are living well below the poverty line and are often marginalized by the rest of the society. Bolivia Digna strives to provide informal education and support to children aged 4 to 15, thus giving the children the motivation to encourage future changes in their own communities.
Moreover, lately Bolivia Digna has strengthen its relationship with another non-profit here in Cochabamba, “Casa de los Niños”. This project currently is home to 520 people with roughly 200 kids living together in the community. It welcomes kids living in the streets, with situation of poverty, addictions, alcoholism and violence.
During this period, you can get to know more about the NGOs sector in Bolivia, you will participate in the daily activities of Bolivia Digna and will get invaluable field experience. This will give you a better understanding of the inner-workings of NGOs as well as develop your humanitarian skills and international communications knowledge.
In this contest, we are looking for a figure able to work with the most problematic families in the community.
The main topics are prevention of violence and abuses, psychological, physical and sexual. Along with the families is possible to work in the school “Arco Iris”, located and working within the community.
The goal is to develop a better living environment for the children and the parents, avoiding conflictuality within the families.
Concerning the length and organization of the time here, we are relatively flexible and we would like to discuss it with you.
